Teams from around the Asia-Pacific region will again descend on Christchurch in July 2017 to compete for the Christchurch International Cup.
The inaugural Christchurch International Cup in July 2016 was a huge success with 32 teams, including teams from Auckland, Dunedin and two teams from Australia.
This year we want your football team to be part of this world-class youth football event.
Participating players, coaches and fans in the 2106 Cup were impressed by the quality of the competition, the state-of-the-art facility, and the excellent organisation which created a great sense of occasion for the young players and their supporters.
Just as importantly, the visitors all had a memorable and fun experience, thanks to the hospitality and the attractions of the Canterbury region.
We are excited by the fact that the Christchurch International Cup will not only deliver an exhibition of top-class junior football, but also give young players the opportunity to experience new cultures and hopefully make life-long footballing friends from other nations.
We would be proud if your team could experience this wonderful festival of football where young players from different countries can match themselves against some of their best peers.
The tournament is hosted by the Christchurch Football Centre, which is regarded as one of the best football facilities in Australasia, and supported by the Christchurch City Council, Mainland Football and New Zealand Football.
The hosts are working closely with teams from around Asia, Australia, Europe, Oceania, North and South America to attract as many international teams as possible to further enhance the multi-cultural flavour of the event.
Christchurch is the gateway to the South Island and the major city in Canterbury, which is globally renowned for its stunning scenery and attractions.
The Christchurch International Cup is a terrific opportunity to play international junior football and experience the breath-taking countryside that formed the backdrop to the Lord of the Rings movies.
We make a point of keeping our entry fees low, between NZD$700-$900, and will assist you in everything we can to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
Team numbers will be strictly limited so please register now.
We can’t wait to welcome you at the Christchurch International Cup.
I am sure you must be exhausted after a busy last few weeks, and the completion of the first CFA International Cup.
On behalf of Central United FC I would like to extend our thanks for what was a wonderful weekend of football and experience for our teams.
We have had nothing but positive feedback about the weekend, the organization and we are very glad we came down to the tournament.
We look forward to returning in 2017 where I’m sure the CIC will be even bigger and better.
Once again thanks to you and the whole CFA team.
Thank you for the great tournament. Our boys and families had a great time and sure enjoyed playing on that surface. We are missing one participation certificate. Could you please print it and send it to me?
Thank you very much!
We wanted to say a huge thanks for an amazing tournament – Anika had a fantastic time and we were impressed by the facilities and organisation. Anika is looking forward to some soccer time next few days at the holiday program and we are keen to see if we can get a team down here next year from TKU in Auckland.
Hi Tsetso I would just like to thank you for inviting the Waimak black 12s to be part of the Christchurch international cup myself and all our boys really enjoyed it and for me personally it is by far the best football tournament I have been to and we would really love to compete in it next year if you have 13th grade involved in it.
Can I also just add a huge thankyou to you and everyone involved in organising the tournament. It was such a pleasure to attend such a well run and professional event! Dunedin Tech are certainly keen on coming back next year.
Just wanted to say how impressive the tournament was.
Hello . Having been lucky enough to be involved in the support team of Nomads U9 Blue team I would like to thank and congratulate your team on a fantastic tournament. The kids were buzzing . What a buzz for the kids to play in this after watching the Euros and Copa America. The whole thing gave a feel of living out the dream. Unfortunately the team went down one nil to a very classy CFA team in the semi . A great game it was too with both teams testing out the woodwork on a couple of occasions. A real thriller. The team learnt the big lesson in picking themselves up and winning a bronze and helping their keeper win the golden gloves. To the young referees thank you and to your professional staff and volunteers a big thumbs up. This could go on to be a massive date for young footballers both here and in Australia.
